Unofficially, the downtown area in Ashland stretches along a ½ mile strip of Siskiyou Boulevard from the Ashland Public Library up to Calle Guanajuato and through Lithia Park. Along East Main St. and Lithia Way you will find the majority of businesses located in the downtown area from restaurants and cafes to boutique shops and offices.

How To Get Around Downtown Ashland, Oregon

Ashland is easy to get around and walking is usually your best option for getting around downtown. Ashland is also a bike-friendly city with a bike-share program, a central bike path, and plenty of places to lock up throughout town. Take a left on S. Pioneer St. and prepare to enter Ashland’s most acclaimed attraction, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. The Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF), is a nationally respected, multistage theater complex that’s one of the largest and oldest theater companies in the country. Give yourself a tour and then make your way down into Lithia Park.

Head Down To Lithia Park’s Lower Duck Pond

Right behind the Allen Elizabethan Theatre, there lies a peaceful place called the Lower Duck Pond inside Lithia Park. This is a  great place to sit and people, read a book, or watch the ducks go about their day. It is also the entrance to Lithia Park, so take some time to walk through the park and take in your beautiful surroundings.

Once you’ve taken a stroll through the park head across the street from the Lower Duck Pond to find the Lithia Fountains on the Plaza. Yes, you can and should drink from them! Ashland, Oregon is famous for the lithium-rich water that gurgles from a fountain in the center of the Plaza.
