Dave DeCarlow is a 4th generation Rogue Valley resident with strong ties to Southern Oregon’s unique cultural and economic environment. With his extensive family background in homebuilding, he has worked in various aspects of construction for over 40 years.
In the early 1980′s Dave formed Silverstone Construction, Inc., and over the years has been involved in foundations, framing, finish carpentry, and more recently project management. Because his earliest construction experience was “hands-on” he has developed a thorough understanding of all aspects of the construction process. Most of Dave’s work has been on single family residences, although he has also been involved in both multi-family units and commercial buildings.
Dave and his wife Linda own Silverstone Construction, Inc. together. Dave has a formal education in mathematics and physics. They are members of the Jackson County Homebuilders Association.
In 2012 Dave began working with Laz Ayala and Mark Knox leading to the recent formation of KDA Homes.
Dave has been a long time volunteer for Boys Scouts of America, Habitat for Humanity, and the United Methodist Church. He believes strongly in the value of volunteer participation, and has supported many community organizations including CASA, Kids Unlimited, Maslow Project and the Dunn House.
Mark Knox has lived in Ashland for the past 23 years and is founding partner of KDA Homes. Mark is a Land Use Planner with a solid understanding of not only Oregon’s comprehensive land use laws, but also an extensive background working with the Rogue Valley’s various municipal governments.
Mark was a Land Use Planner for the City of Ashland for 13 years and the Planning Director for the City of Talent for five years. Mark has also consulted on numerous projects throughout the valley consisting of residential subdivisions, mixed-use developments and commercial centers. Mark has always been passionate about his work which is to integrate human scale components into project planning in order to enhance the livability, sustainability and experience.
Mark and his wife Nora have been married for 30 years and have raised two daughters, Madison and Olivia, both of whom are now attending college in Oregon. Mark is involved in various volunteer organizations including the Ashland Rotary Club and the Bear Creek Greenway Committee.
Laz Ayala has been a Rogue Valley resident and real estate entrepreneur for nearly 30 years. Laz started his real estate career as broker in 1988 and has been developing and building for over 20 years. Laz has been involved with various development projects including most recently Phase II and III of The Farms of Jacksonville, Meadowbrook Park II at North Mountain and Ridgeview Place in Ashland.
Laz is an active civic leader and has served on various Boards and committees including Heart of Medford Association and La Clinica.
Laz and his wife Carlie live in Ashland where they are raising their sons Solomon and Benjamin.
Laz believes in supporting organizations and projects that benefit the community. He has been a financial supporter of Kids Unlimited, Rogue Valley YMCA, and SOU Academia Latina. Laz is a member of the Medford Chamber of Commerce and the Medford Rogue Rotary Club.
Linda DeCarlow is a long time resident of the Rogue Valley with many family and business ties to the area. She has a specialized degree in management from the University of Oregon, and has worked in various aspects of the financial industry for over 40 years.
In the 1970’s Linda began working in the banking industry where she was eventually promoted to the Operations Officer position in a large locally owned bank. After the birth of her son in the 1980’s she assumed the position of Chief Financial Officer at Southern Oregon Head Start where she oversaw an expansion that resulted in tripling the number of children served in Southern Oregon, as well as a budget of over $10,000,000. In 2004 Linda left Southern Oregon Head Start to begin a career in construction oriented bookkeeping and management.
Linda & her husband Dave own Silverstone Construction, Inc. together. They are members of Jackson County Homebuilders Association and have been in the homebuilding industry for over 40 years.
In 2013 Linda joined her husband and Laz Ayala to manage the finances for Laz & Dave’s new entity, Meadowbrook Townhomes, LLC. Since that time their business has grown and currently involves additional companies and many projects around Southern Oregon.
Linda has been a volunteer in various organizations such as Boy Scouts of America & the First United Methodist Church. She and Dave both believe in the power of volunteerism in the community and have provided support for many local agencies in the valley.
